Founder

Name: Margaret Hotze
Description: In 1989, with the support of several committed volunteers, Margaret helped establish Veritas Catholic Bookstore. The mission of the store was simple: evangelization. For six years the store operated through a series of very hard-working volunteers. Their goal was to erect a bookstore with the best publications on the Faith in English. The main crieteria for the selection of titles was fidelity to Magisterial teaching. Margaret knew there was a thirsting among Catholics to learn the Faith in greater depth. The goal of Veritas was to supply the information many Catholics lacked through a great selection of books and multimedia resources. Margaret continues to be the leading spirit behind the store's outreach to the Catholic community. We are greatful for her years of service at the store.

Manager

Name: Daniel
Description: Baptized an Episcopalian, but raised a materialist, Daniel quickly became disenchanted with what the world had to offer. At age fifteen he began to read the Gospels for the first time and attended his first Catholic Mass. Amazed at what he found he immediately bought a catechism at Veritas Catholic Bookstore. Daniel was received into the church at Mount Carmel High School Chapel in 1998. In June of 2000 Daniel joined the Veritas Family, and in 2001 married his beloved wife, Michelle. They both cherish their son, Elijah,as Daniel continues to work full-time at Veritas as manager.

Position: Sales
Description: Born and raised in New Orleans, Marion LaRose grew up attending all Catholic schools including Loyola University. After four children and two grandchildren, Marion knows how important faith is for family life. Twelve years ago Marion was given the grace of a new committment to Christ, and has been seeking the Lord wholeheartedly ever since. She has been the full-time sales person since 2001. Marion's other vocation is breeding Arabian horses on her acreage in Cypress, Texas.

Description: Hello my name is April Deshmukh and I am happy to work here at Veritas. Currently, I am waiting to return to school and finish my undergraduate in the medical field and incorporate some study in ethics.

I have interests in the biological sciences, theology, philosophy, and classical spirituality.
